Aftermath - Battlefield 3

The next expansion pack for Battlefield 3 is hereAftermath.  It was given an official release date today. PlayStation 3 users get it first with Battlefield 3 Premium members on PS3 actually being able to already download it starting today (November 27th). Battlefield 3 Premium members on Xbox LIVE and PC will be able to download the Aftermath expansion on December 4th and then it will finally come out for regular Xbox 360/PC players on December 18th.

Battlefield 3: Aftermath is all about urban combat. There are four new maps where players can battle between buildings and through the city streets (Epicenter, Markaz Monolith, Azadi Palace, and Talah Market). There are three new vehicles including heavily modified troop transports and a civilian vehicle adapted for combat (Phoenix, Barsuk, and Rhino).

Battlefield 3: Aftermath
also introduces a new Scavenger mode which is an objective-based game mode where players start with only a knife, a grenade, and a sidearm and must try to find more powerful weapons scattered around the map. It plays like Conquest.

Aftermath also adds a new weapon called the "XBOW" (pictured in one of the screenshots above), ten new assignments, dog tags, trophies, and unlockable achievements.

Battlefield 3: Aftermath is the fourth in what is to be five expansion packs. The next, End Game, will be released in March 2013.
