Now everyone has a price point they are willing to spend.  Speaker packages like this can really save the day, as an alternative to spending hundreds of dollars a pair of speakers to put into your home theater.  As an audiophile I make it a point to find good deals as I value my cash and my investments.

That all being said, Infinity is a solid speaker manufacturer that I can recommend as I own some Infinity speakers and love them.

Infinity TSS-1200 - Experience Outstanding Sonic Clarity Anywhere in the Room

Advancing the Science of Sound for 40 Years
With groundbreaking technologies, revolutionary materials and advanced manufacturing techniques, Infinity loudspeakers have set new standards for performance, simplicity and style for 40 years. Since Infinity was founded in a California garage in 1968 by engineers passionate about music, its critically acclaimed loudspeakers and design leadership have remained unchallenged. Through the years, state-of-the-art engineering facilities and unmatched resources have allowed Infinity manufacturers to design and develop innovative loudspeakers and loudspeaker technologies that push the limits of accurate sound reproduction.

Stringently Tested for Exceptional Performance
Infinity Total System Solution (TSS) speakers use some of the most advanced speaker materials and design to deliver music and movies in a way that even the most critical of listeners will enjoy. Employing specialized laboratory-based testing and design instruments, Infinity's team of engineers guarantee high-quality sound for virtually any room configuration. What's more, Infinity TSS systems even go through double-blind listening tests to compare their performance with other manufacturers' speaker systems. Both professional and casual listeners agree--the results are exceptional.

Hear Your Music and Movies the Way the Artist Intended

Metal Matrix Diaphragms™ (MMD®) for Precise Sound
A well-engineered loudspeaker should be like a window into an artist’s soul, meaning that you hear exactly what they intended without changes or alterations. Breakthrough MMD speaker technology does just that with incredibly stiff yet incredibly lightweight materials. The TSS-1200’s dual 3-1/2" MMD drivers and 3/4" tweeter sandwich ceramic material on either side of an aluminum cone. This material is strong enough to hold its shape when moving rapidly, but light enough to accurately start and stop with your music or movie.

By being so strong, MMD is able to reduce distortions caused by the cone bending or flexing. This keeps your music or movie from sounding odd or unnatural. And when you compare MMD to the cone materials used in other competitive systems, you will really see MMD’s advantage. MMD is actually more than 200 times stronger than the common polypropylene cones used in competitive systems. It’s even 3 times stronger than titanium. Pair this strength with MMD’s incredibly light weight, which is actually 30% lighter than titanium, and MMD is able to deliver all the subtle details that make for an extraordinary listening experience. The TSS-800 comes equipped with a center channel speaker that has a second 3-1/2" midrange driver for clearer, richer dialogue. And when it comes to bass, Infinity’s MMD speaker material is so well engineered that they use it for the TSS-1200’s 12”, 250-watt powered subwoofer. This creates a system with deep, accurate bass that is perfectly voiced matched. Bring it all together, and you will enjoy your music and movies with the exact sounds that the musicians and moviemakers intended--and that only Infinity speaker systems can deliver.

MMD technology is engineered to be
both extremely rigid and light-weight
Low-Resonance Enclosures Provide Sonic Stabilization
A poorly designed speaker enclosure can actually resonate and add its own “sound” to your music. That kind of speaker is like a guitar; a guitarist may use multiple guitars because they all resonate differently, each producing its own unique sound. While this variation is important for a classical guitarist, it isn’t good for a loudspeaker. Resonance can really change a speaker’s overall tonal balance and alter the sound of the recording that it plays.

Using a special tool called a scanning laser vibrometer, Infinity is able to pin-point the location for internal bracing on the TSS-1200, ensuring the brushed aluminum enclosures are so rigid that they do not vibrate or resonate. This design philosophy also extends to the powered subwoofer enclosure. So with the TSS-1200, all you hear is your music and movies--exactly the way you deserve to hear them.

Exceptional Sound Anywhere in the Room

A waveguide ensures an optimal
experience everywhere in the room
Superior Engineering Resources Guarantee a Quality Listening Experience
Many loudspeaker manufacturers are actually loudspeaker assemblers, buying parts off the shelf from different companies with the goal of assembling them into a final product. While this system might help to keep costs down, it does very little to guarantee how the speakers are going to sound. Infinity manufacturers design, engineer and build all parts of the loudspeaker. This integrated process allows Infinity to control all aspects of speaker creation, and results in smoothly engineered loudspeaker systems that sound great in any room.

Optimized to Ensure Great Sound, No Matter Where You Sit
The place where you sit in a room as you listen to speakers can have just as great an effect on what you hear as the speakers themselves. Though you might try to sit in the “sweet spot,” sometimes it just isn’t possible.

So what if you want great sound anywhere you might sit? To make sure that listening to the TSS-1200 is a great experience everywhere in the room, Infinity speakers use a proprietary waveguide. This conduit confines and guides electromagnetic waves around the tweeter, ensuring a wide dispersion of high frequencies throughout the room--all while keeping them both accurate and natural sounding. The result is an incredible sound experience throughout the entire room, even if someone beats you to the best seat in the house.

Now not only is this a product with excellent outstanding sound but its affordable.  More so, its conveniently sized for use in smaller spaces.  While this may be the case, the speakers have larger woofers in them than most speaker packages or sattelites that you will find on the market at this price.  Not only that, it comes with a 12" subwoofer.  Usually you buy a speaker package with sattelites you would be luck to get a 10".  The size of these woofers is important because along with the tweeters in the speakers it opens up the frequency range allowing more accurate sound production from different types of media sources (Blu-ray, CD, MP3...etc).

This is an excellent option for those who want an easy fix with good surround sound quality and don't want to drop an arm and a leg on it.  Now if your looking for an even smaller option and spending less cash, step down one level to the Infinity TSS-800 5.1 Speaker Package.
