JBL ES Series Subwoofers

So if you haven't noticed, I've been reviewing JBL ES Series Speakers and they are excellent, affordable high quality choices for any audiophile looking to create a home theater with solid accurate sound without breaking the bank.

Now essentially, as I've previously mentioned countless times, timbermatching is an important part of attaining accurate sound and balance within you're new home theater.  This can easily be accomplished by buying all the same series or make of a speaker(not to mention it looks better).  Having the same enclosure, type of wood, ports etc. are what creates these benefits.

Now the Subwoofer is always the most important piece of speaker setups as it handles all the low sound and noise that essentially can provide that "Theater" effect and get the asses shaking when the music is pounding.

"H" in the diagram to the right represents the subwoofer, however placement isn't static.  In fact, depending on the room and your personal preference you can place it in several positions.  Need more information?

So what we have here is a choice between a 10" and a 12" Subwoofer.  Everyone has a preference and personal I use both, one in front and one behind.  a 12" has the ability to handle a wider frequency range in the lower end of the spectrum and as a result in my opinion (especially with the JBL ES Series) is the way to go.

JBL's technology allows this product to provide deeper bass and less distortion than most subwoofers on the market.

Now for those of you with no desire for the 12" or possibly you're trying to avoid noise for whatever reasons (neigbors..etc) the 10" may be a better option.  Honestly if you're trying to avoid disruptive or noise the solution is not to buy it or turn it down for either subwoofer.

In conclusion, JBL being a solid reputable audio manufacturer who has been validated by being the speakers in all movie theaters for the last 20 years is always an excellent choice.  I own a 9.2 JBL system myself and as a result, I can highly recommend it as I've thoroughly blasted them under every music, movie and media possibility.  You can check the menu under speakers for the rest of the ES Series or click these links:

Now before we go here, notice that the MSRP on both these speakers is less than half the price.  Recognize also, the 12" with nearly double the power..... is less than $100 more which in my opinion makes it a no brainer.  Again, 10", 12" its really a personal preference.

On a personal note.  The 12" will also prove to be a valuable tool in your love life.  Not only for watching destruction and mayhem on your home theater with the one you love.  But more importantly, to shake the asses of everyone else! (Not only I can but these three have returned to attest to this fact).
