Panasonic New Line 3D Surround Sound SC-BTT770, SC-BTT370, SC-BTT270

Panasonic 3D Blu-Ray Cinema Surround Home Entertainment Systems

The majority of people out there looking for a Home Theater in a Box want the convenience of easy setup with no knowledge of seperate devices or configuration.  The new Panasonic Line are an extremely appealing option to a large market today as it supports all HD audio and video (3D) required for the average user to play HD media on their big screen in surround sound.

Maybe you just moved into a place and you're just trying to get away from the mobile audio and headphones?

As Panasonic puts it ...this new line of home entertainment system will "employ advanced technologies to reproduce immersive 3D with superb picture quality, cinema-like surround sound. They all support Full HD 3D playback and are equipped with the 3D Effect Controller to adjust the amount of the depth effect for more expansive images."

Features:
  • 2-Way tabletop speakers
  • VIERA Cast (Netflix & Skype)
  • Wi-fi Built in/ Wireless Rear Ready
  • Two HDMI inputs (One HDMI output)

Built In Decoder: Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD High Resolution, DTS-HD Master Audio Essential, Dolby Pro Logic II

These features are what I found interesting in the two upper models.

The SC-BTT770 and SC-BTT370 feature VIERA CAST with Skype that allows online media streaming and lets users connect with friends and family around the world on any compatible TV (Skype-compatible camera needed). They come with a down-firing subwoofer for powerfull bass and offer one HDMI output and two HDMI inputs with Standby Pass through for HD and 3D gaming and set-top box connections.

All three new Full HD 3D Blu-ray systems have built-in Ethernet LAN and WiFi connectivity for access to online content and universal dock for iPhone and iPod.

Esentially the differences between these models is as follows:

    Panasonic SC-BTT270

    • VIERA Cast - Including Netflix
    • New Cinema Surround Plus
    • Wi-Fi Built In
    • Compact Subwoofer (10')
    • Full Range Satellite
    • 5.1ch/1000W
    • iPod/iPhone Direct Dock
    • 3D/2D BD Playback
    • HDMI ARC/SD Slot

    Panasonic SC-BTT370
    • 2-Way Tabletop Speakers
    • VIERA Cast - Netflix & Skype
    • Wi-Fi Built In / Wireless Rear Ready
    • Two HDMI Inputs (One HDMI Output)
    • Down-Firing Type Subwoofer
    • 5.1ch/1000W
    • New Cinema Surround Plus
    • iPod/iPhone Direct Dock
    • 3D/2D BD Playback
    • HDMI ARC/SD Slot

    Panasonic SC-BTT770

    • Viera Cast - Netflix & Skype
    • Wi-Fi Built In / Wireless Rear Speakers Included
    • Two HDMI Inputs (One HDMI Output)
    • 2 Way Tall Boy
    • Pure Direct Sound Speaker
    • 5.1ch/1000W
    • New Cinema Surround Plus
    • Kelton Subwoofer
    • iPod/iPhone Direct Dock
    • 3D/2D BD Playback
    • HDMI ARC/SD Slot

Now with the addition of the iPod/iPhone Dock, the wireless rears, the Kelton subwoofer, the bigger front speakers and the Pure Direct option.  I would say the top model is the better option here.  However, at $325.99 for the SC-BTT270 I think that if you're just looking for a simple system and don't care about the above features or a wi-fi connect I would stick with it.
Consider though, almost guaranteed you will at some point find it convenient to stream media from your computer or from you mobile device it may be in your best interest to purchase one of the other models just to futureproof your investment.  Really, unless you need the wireless rear speakers, I would recommend if you're choosing from the above choices? I would go for the SC-BTT370.  This model is wireless ready so if you need those wireless speakers in the future you have that option but, in the meantime.  Save yourself the $100 as they all have the same power and decoding capability.
