Mortal Kombat 9 is bringing back blood and guts to fighting games. While I dont mind the superhero fighting, this has been a long time coming, and a necessary addition to the game library.
You know? I'm the biggest skeptic with these game releases and their movie trailers that tease and lead you on and right before you blow.....you go buy the game and it sucks. Seriously unsatisfied by his last game purchase Dr. Derek Adams took some time from his busy schedule to research this game and provided an array of HD trailers for the new Mortal Kombat. My first impression.? "Yes please".
The story begins with Raiden, just when he is about to be killed by Shao Kahn in the events that happen after Armageddon. In a last effort, he sends a message to himself in the past, in the era of "Mortal Kombat", the first game. The rest of the story follows that Raiden's past and shows him trying to understand the visions and messages he gets from himself in the future and trying to prevent the events that lead to destruction of all realities.
Show me some High Definition HD Gameplay? Here you go.
Firstly, Kratos, the protaganist in the GOD of WAR series is a new character in the game. Kratos will be an exclusive playable character in the PS3 version only. He'll even have his own fatalities, combat moves, and God of War-themed combat arena. Unfortunately, it looks as though Kratos will not be available for the game's story mode.
Mileena is a clone of Kitana, created by Shang Tsung's sorcery in his flesh pits for Shao Kahn, using Tarkatan physiology. Vicious and evil, she despises Kitana, and feels that it is her own right to rule Edenia as Princess in her place. Her fondest wish is to kill her "sister", and claim her existence for her own. Something of an opportunist, she will make use of any chance to seize power that comes within her hands.
Here’s an incomplete list that is being continually updated it appears(so there will be more maybe) of all the characters to be released in Mortal Kombat 9
Confirmed to date:
So far there are 2 Confirmed Bosses however they have not been confirmed as playable characters as of yet!
Mortal Kombat 9 Bosses:
This is probably the most fast phased game in the series. In addition, there is also a new mode called the tag team mode wherein you can do a series of combo and then tag-in with another character to finish off the combo. The other character can also perform an assist move.
|Oh ya, I has a tag team mode too. You can play with your buddy online against others!|
Please understand, Dr. Adams is an extremely detail oriented individual who doesnt apply his approval or recommendations lightly.
As you can see the game is the same with moves and gameplay essentially but the graphics and gameplay has been improved greatly with new graphics, character additions, finishing moves and 3D capability.
Dr. Adams has advised me that if you have the choice, the PlayStation 3 version looks to be superior with the inclusion of Kratos and 3D compatibility (provided you have a 3D display).
The official release date for Mortal Kombat 9 in the US is April 19th, 2011.
