Acer Predator AG3600 - Affordable Gaming PC

This is a PC developed by Acer specifically for affordable Gaming.  It just came on the market.

I was skeptical about this seeing as the original Predator AG7500 sold for $1,999.  Double the MSRP of the AG3600 which has been priced at $899.

Lets say I was skeptical until I saw that the Aspire Predator AG3600 features 8GB DDR3 SDRAM and an Intel Core i5 2300 processor incorporating Intel’s new architecture, H67 chipset and Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology, which speeds up the processor when extra performance is needed.  It also has an optical drive for backing up data as well as playing DVD movies and games, the AG3600 has a huge 1.5TB SATA hard drive.

The computer comes with Discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT 420 graphics. It was for use with next-generation gaming architecture built from the ground up for Microsoft DirectX 11. The AG3600 is also primed for 3D gaming. While not included, gamers can add a 3D monitor that will work very well with its graphics card.

The PC also comes with more than enough connectivity with 10 USB 2.0 ports (four on top, six in back), three audio jacks as well as mini HDMI, DVI and D-SUB ports.  So this could also be used as a solid media server to play your HD Video.

While it isn`t as powerful as the AG7500 its not that much weaker, for half the price I would prefer it.

This system looks cool and I would say its still a Powerhouse that could handle anything you throw at it.  I`m considering purchasing one of these as I think its an excellent deal, especially if I can get it for less than $899 which I`m positive will be able to do.
