ONKYO TX NR-708 - Affordable Stereo Receiver Option?

I've been looking at good priced solid stereo receivers.  I listened to this the other day and was impressed.  Onkyo TX NR-708 I would classify it as a mid to high end 7.1 receiver.  It caught my interest because it possess a new technology, network capability.

When I first saw this receiver I assumed it had full network capability but it appears it can only stream audio from your PC and internet radio.  Ah well you can have everything, but video would be nice :(
It also appears you can configure settings through this connection from your computer.
Now I know I am pretty critical some might say negative but it appears this is the only negative I can see at this point.

This receiver has everything you need for a home theater.  It has a decoder that handles everything:
DOLBY Decoder True HD, DD Plus, PLIIz
DTS Decoder DTS-HD Master Audio
Dolby PLIIz
ONKYO GAME Surround Modes
THX Processing Mode

7 HDMI (thats right 7) inputs and even placing one on the front(which I wish I had a couple times) and 1080p upscaling.

Amplifier Output   110watt - 8ohm - 20 - 20000hz - THD 0.08% -7 Channel(S) Surround

Now I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good deal on a solid receiver that will last them for years.  It possess whats required to last for some time and it has the power as Onkyo power ratings are accurate, its true power.  For a beginner in the Home Theater game, buy this if you want solid tech but are willing to read the manual and understand what it does.  While good receivers come with a mic which runs speaker tests and levels everything out for a certain listening position, everyones ear is different.  I find tweaking the configuration is something you just do.  Everyones ear is different.  In the end this receiver does create clear solid sound.

Now to get to cost $$$. I saw this receivers MSRP at $899 however, right now I've seen the price ranging from $549 to $899 so again make sure you get a good deal if you're looking at this product.   At $549 I'll tell you, if I needed another receiver I would buy it.  With the features it has.  Thats a steal.
